Close Protection

City & Guilds (1892-02) & Highfield (HABC) Level 3 Close Protection Operations

 

The course will comprehensively cover all competencies required for the SIA Licence to Practice and also provide an invaluable insight from our experienced instructors relating to the role of a Close Protection Operative.

 

Anyone wishing to complete the Close Protection Operations module must first have completed the Licence to Practice in the Security Industry core module. Applicants will complete the relevant modules in which they wish to work to obtain a licence as detailed in the table below.

 

Instructors: Our instructors are all qualified and experienced professionals, skilled in the subjects they teach and qualified and licensed in close protection. Amongst our instructors are experienced and currently operational Close Protection Operatives from Hostile Environment, Military and Executive Close Protection sectors.

 

Support: There will be a CP qualified course manager on site 24 hours to assist with information, advice and support for evening study or course matters in general.

 

The Close Protection course is run over a 14 day period and is non residential.

 

First AidYou will need a recognised First Aid certificate to apply for your Close Protection SIA Licence. If you do not have this already we can make arrangements to provide this course during your time with us.

 

Physical Intervention Award (Level 2) - we will also be incorporating a Level 2 Physical Intervention course within the CP course. This is the new requirement for Door supervisors from June 2010. If you have a current DS Licence which is due to expire you will need to update your portfolio with a Physical Intervention Skills Award before reapplying for your licence.

 

Applicants will need to take the relevant modules for the sector in which they wish to work or train, as shown in the table below, and also be required to obtain a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence on successful completion of the module.
