City & Guilds (1888) Level 3 Award in Security Operations

The Award in Security Operations is a learning programme designed to support the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) of Security Officers. It has been created for operational personnel who have experience of working within the security environment but who wish to expand their knowledge and develop a more specialised understanding of security operations.

This qualification is suitable for those individuals who have completed a Level 2 Certificate for Security Officers, CCTV Operators and Door Supervisors. It will also complement those who have completed a Level 3 Close Protection qualification.

The recognised Award in Security Operations consists of four parts:

• Health & Safety Operations and Management
• Physical Security
• Personnel Security
• Private Security & Law

This programme is taught via a combination of distance learning and classroom based work with access to learning materials and on-going support from HZL (Specialist Security Operations).

Assessment is through a GOLA multi choice examination paper which must be completed for each individual unit (4 examinations in total).
